Our Story

Curly owns hundreds of T-shirts.

He buys one everywhere he goes. Road trip, ballgame, a diner with a good logo: if it has a shirt for sale, he's coming home with it. And cutting back? Not happening. Ask him to thin out the drawer and he'll make a case for every single one.

How it started

Curly had always wanted to start his own online business. Erin is a photographer and a self-described tech girly. So one night the two of them sat down and planned the whole thing out, from the name to the seal to the very first shirt.

The idea was simple: make the tees and other goods Curly would actually buy himself. Vintage-inspired, a little funny, and full of New England. Curly's Dry Goods is run out of Western Mass by two people who give directions using landmarks that closed years ago.

The Curly test

Every design has to pass one test before it goes on the site: would Curly actually wear it? For a guy with hundreds of shirts in the rotation, that's a high bar. The ones that make it end up on tees, hoodies, beanies, and other goods built to last, like heavyweight garment-dyed cotton that feels broken-in from day one. Everything is made after you order it.

Who's who

Curly is the T-shirt guy and the final word on every design.

Erin is the photographer and tech girly behind the scenes. She built the shop and takes the photos you see here.

Why "Dry Goods"?

Back in the day, the dry goods store was where you went for fabric, clothing, and everyday goods. We liked the idea of an old-fashioned shop with one modern habit: nothing gets made until someone orders it.
